The laboratory is involved in the determination of biochemical and hematological parameters of patients enrolled in the clinical trials performed at the Clinical Research Center
- It performs the measurement of new markers of acute kidney injury in both urine and serum
- It determines some hormones and quantifies specific antibodies
- It evaluates the renal disease progression in patients by determining the glomerular filtration rate, by measuring the plasma clearance of iohexol as an exogenous marker of renal function by using a methodology developed by the laboratory personne
The Laboratory, due to its peculiar activity, is involved in all the research activities of the Clinical Research Center by performing the determination of biochemical and hematological parameters and the measurement of glomerular filtration rate of patients enrolled in the clinical trials.
The laboratory performs analyses in patients with rare diseases, in subjects with renal and non-renal pathologies, as well as in diabetic, obese, transplanted and polycystic kidney patients.
It acts as a central laboratory in many multicentric national and international trials.
